June 9 , 2007. Microsoft on the rise.

There's no doubt about it. Microsoft is on the rise. Sony is on a downturn thanks to the overprice and overhyped PS3. So let's take a look at all the new services and technology Microsoft is introducing. And see which ones are good and not so good.

Xbox 360

The first is the 360 game console. This is a sure fire hit, judging by the sales and legion of fans. It's got the Live and the Arcade and looks so sexy. It even comes in black for all you whiteboys with the jungle fever. You best bet is here.

Zune

Zune. Now this thing just plain sucks. It's got the wireless that doesn't work with anything but another Zune. And the wheel doesn't work. But it's got a big screen, which is good, except there's nothing to play on it cause all the companies have contracts with iTunes. Ouch! We hear Microsoft is going to turn this into a portable gaming device. So we won't write this thing off completely until we see new Zune.

MSN Video

MSN video. Yup. Microsoft is jumping into the online video market just like everybody else by giving MSN Video. If you've ever seen the movie Brazil, then you've pretty much know what to expect from MSN Video. If you don't know what the hell we're talking about, just IMDB Brazil. Skip this site and stick with youtube.

MSN Games

MSN Games. Again, Microsoft likes to copy everything successful, including online gaming. They got great free games and you can get badges. Yup. Badges. Just like the Boy Scouts. Except you can't sew them on your clothes and look like a dork. Nope. You get to put them in an album online to look like a supernerd. Skip this crap and stick to Yahoo where at least you can win some money.

Vista

We saved the best for last. Actually, we saved Vista for last because we all know the 360 is the best thing to come out of Microsoft since the original Xbox. But if you want a fatass lazy bloated OS that looks just like Apple's Tiger, you can buy Vista. And you can play the latest games like Halo 2 for the PC! Halo freaking 2! We recommend skipping Vista until Microsoft fixes all the bugs. Perhaps 2009.

You know Microsoft is one of those companies that keeps to going, even after it's been a success. In that regard, we really do like their attitude. It's like a young hungry startup, except with billions of dollars. So here's hoping Microsoft can come up with (or copy) ideas that help us enjoy or technology more.
