June 22, 2008. Nothing worse for your 360 than a really hot day.

Has Microsoft fixed the heating issue? Their answer is what issue? So it's up to you to keep your 360 alive. It has a real low fault tolerance. Seems like anything that can go wrong will activate the 3 red lights, even if there's really nothing wrong. Now if you don't have air conditioning, then you need other ways to keep the 360 cool.

Cooler King

The 360 cooler addons don't always work. This is the Cooler King. There's alot of complaints about this thing in terms of quality and whether it works. There's also complaints about other coolers. We don't recommend addon coolers because of their shoddy quality.

Xbox 360 Entertainment Cabinet

What's wrong with this picture? It looks like a great entertainment cabinet, but you see where they put the 360? Make sure that if you use a cabinet, there's room for the airflow so that the heat from inside of the 360 is blown outside, and not against a wall where it just reenters the 360. This causes alot of heating issues.

House Plan

Some kids keep the 360 in their bedrooms. That's not good. The 360 should be placed in the family or gameroom where there's plenty of air because the 360 tends to heat up rooms. Open the door and windows if you play the 360 in a small room. If it's hotter outside, just open the door. Try to keep to room from getting hotter than the rest of the house or apartment.

Fan

Rotating fans are great. They circulate air inside a room to keep the heat from building up. Don't put one right behind the 360 though. You don't want hot air blown back inside the 360. But putting one near the 360 will move the hot air away from the 360 real fast.

Ice bags

If it's still too hot, the last thing you can do is use plenty of ice and a big bucket with some water. Put it far from your 360 and make sure there's a rotating fan near the bucket of ice. The heat will slowly melt the ice and the fan will circulate the cool air from the bucket all over the room. It's kinda like cheap air conditioner. If you're wondering about the water vapor and your 360, don't worry. The heat is being blasted out your 360 so water vapor is not entering it any more than putting a glass of ice tea next to you while you game.
