Sep 22 , 2007. Which version of Halo 3?
Halo will be out September 26. So which version would we recommend? Let's look at them and compare.

The regular version is just the game. It's probably got the instruction booklet and that's it. If you're just a regular player, that's all you really need. It's still just a shooter after all so if you're one of those play two shooters a month people, this is the one you want.

The Halo 3 Limited Edition comes in a metal DVD case (since most collector's stuff has to come in a metal DVD case). They give you the required "bonus disc" of interactive content, which is marketing for you get to select the menu. Most bonus discs don't even give you a menu. Finally, you get the book of stuff people made up cause they got to sell this other collector's set. Microsoft did make the book hardcover instead of the usual softcover books you find in collector editions. And this one is limited, which is marketing for less than infinity. It's only ten bucks more than the regular edition, which isn't a bad deal if you like to know more about Halo 3 besides what's in the game.

For a whopping $129, you can buy the Legendary Edition of Halo 3. It comes with another DVD besides the one in the Limited Edition. This DVD has even more stuff that you'll probably don't want to know about Halo 3. Probably the making of and the making of the making of. Also included is a small Master Chief helmet. They made it too small to wear, which kinda makes sense since some kid will probably suffocate in it and the parents would end up sueing Microsoft for ten billion dollars. Legendary refers to the fact that, well, some people are legendary Halo fans. You'd got to be to pay $129 for two DVDs and a tiny helmet.
Which one will we get? We already ordered the Limited Edition. We think that the price to content ratio for that one is worth the price, although these games are creeping up in price. The Legendary version is best left for Halo 3 fanatics. |
