Oct 6 , 2007. Dyasty Warriors the worst franchise in history.

Dynasty Warriors was an awful 3D fighter when it came out on the Playstation One. It was so bad, that the creators, Koei, went back to the drawing board and created a 3D beatemup. But they still kept the name Dynasty Warriors, probably because it feature warriors from three kingdoms (or dynasties as the Chinese like to call their kingdoms). So Dynasty Warriors 2 was born.

Dynasty Warriors 2

Dyansty Warriors 2 was a great game with some great new features. There were stages that had a bosses and one big boss. You can go after the bosses or just the big boss. And there were grunts all over that you could beat to powerup. Dynasty Warriors 2 made a ton of money, so Koei did what most companies would do in their situation, and turned Dynasty Warriros into a franchise.

But here's where they went insane. They created an expansion that didn't really add much to the actual gameplay. And they knew it, so the following versions of Dynasty Warriors were reduced so that the expansion pack would be worth buying. But sadly, they didn't change or enhance the gameplay in the newer versions or in the expansions.

Samurai Warriors

So Koei decided to do the next best thing, and change the story. They created new characters and a new story and called it Samurai Warriors, cause you know, there was a time in Japanese history that had warlords fighting all over the place too. But still, it was pretty much the same game with the same gameplay mechanics.

Dynasty Warriors: Gundam

And when that didn't work, Koei went really insane and brought a license. So you had Dynasty Warriors: Gundam, which is only a little better than Dynasty Warriors: Pokemon. They kept the exact gameplay mechanics and disregarded the fact that Gundams used guns more than anything else.

We've chosen Dynasty Warriors as the worst franchise in history. While the games aren't bad, they clearly lack any growth in gameplay since Dynasty Warriors 2. And the expansion packs do not add to the gaming experience.
