Conan Xbox 360 ReviewSo the story is kinda familiar. You end up on this island and you got to get your stuff back cause you were unconscious. And of course, you run into some hot babe that gets you to do stuff for her because she's hot. This leads to you saving the world. You know, for the millions spent on game developement, you'd think they could have hired some English intern to come up with better material or at least research Conan's adventures better than this. But I guess you got to stick with the formula.

Once you get passed the cliched plot, you'll find a pretty Conan 360generic action game. Conan can jump, block, parry, and perform combos. He can also do mutilations like beheadings or cutting the arms off the enemies. And there's plenty of blood flowing when he does do something. The problem is that his moves aren't very exciting. They're as standard as the plot. Don't expect him to perform any aerial attacks like God of War or pull any cool moves like Ninja Gaiden. Conan can only roll out of the way.

ConanThe game has you fighting plenty of people as well as monsters. There's quite a few bosses and Conan can wield several different weapons and fight two or three monsters at the same time. Conan even gets to use magic, which he'll need to fight the bosses. That's right, Conan knows how to use magic, which is strange since he hates magic.

In terms of graphics, the game is decent. It's not great or Conan Gameanything. The bosses are nice and big, but there's a real lack of special effects besides blood. The voice acting is great, but Conan sounds too smart and talks too much. There's also some topless nudity just to make sure this game is edgy enough. The characters are well detailed, even if the facial features are a bit off. The monsters look great. The music is bland and generic. They should have stuck with the movie score if that was possible.

The game is only six to eight hours long and there's no online modes. Unfortunately, that means we have to lower this game's score. Also note that there are plenty of action games that are better than Conan, although most of them are on the PS2. That doesn't mean Conan we're going to let Conan slide. A great action game is always great. But Conan is just average.
