Remember the game called Black on the Xbox? It had you hunting down a terrorist who, well we don't remember why, just that to hunt him, you had to blow everything up with your guns. Welcome to Conflict Denied, a game that features the same gameplay and basic premise. What's the difference here? Well, you can switch between a sniper and a heavy gunner.
So you can play as the heavy gunner Lang or the sniper Graves and switch anytime in this 2 man show of force. When you switch, the AI takes control of the other person and you can order them around. The AI does a pretty good job killing enemies so you'll be using your partner alot in this game. Although you'll probably end up playing Lang because the sniping is difficult thanks to bad controls in sniper mode.
The enemy AI is the cardboard cutout type you find in many games like this. They don't provide much of a challenge, but there's plenty of them. The enemies are also the generic bad guys, although this game has ragdoll physics so you can blow them off buildings to get that flying body count look.
The environment is good looking with nice textures when there's plenty of light, but there's too many dark corridors and rooms that give the same textures a muddy look. The developers have filled the game with plenty of exploding barrels, crates, and gas pipes so you'll get that action movie feeling throughout the game. There's also plenty of bad macho dialogue and a very toned down background music that doesn't annoy you. The framerate is also a little low for an Xbox 360 FPS.
The game features online coop for the mission mode so you and a friend can finish the entire game together, which takes around six to eight hours. There's the standard multiplayer modes too. Many sites give this game a low score for being too generic, but we liked it simply because it lets you blow stuff up and you can play as a sniper or gunner for the entire game. Although the PC version is better thanks to the mouse and keyboard.
