This game is a first-person RPG. You play an apprentice that has to recover a powerful artifact. So you arrive at the city where the artifact is located only to find the city under attack. You manage to retrieve the artifact and save the city, but it gets stolen while you're asleep. So guess what? You're going to have to go and get the artifact back. This is really the beginning of your adventure.
You can use weapons, magic, or stealth. Although it doesn't really do much thanks to the huge amount of traps that are just lying around for you to use against the enemy. If this were a FPS, we would be talking about a million barrels of explosives and drunken soldiers standing around them. But you know, feel free to use that bow or spell. Most of that stuff doesn't do that much damage unless you really specialize in it. The developers seem to prefer you to use the traps that appear everywhere to kill your enemies.
There's also the strange skill of kicking your opponent off stuff, particularly ledges. To make this skill more usable, the enemy AI is pretty stupid. They just come straight at you so you can kick them like kicking a field goal. It's pretty funny, but perhaps it's not suppose to be that funny. Besides the booting, you can also do a stealth kill, but the game is a little buggy in the controls sometimes. It's easier to just kick them off ledges.
The graphics have been bumped up to 360 standards. The textures are great and the effects are nice. However, there is low polygon count on many of the creatures in the game, and the AI is still the same as the PC version. So be prepared for major kicking. The music is standard RPG music. The game features good environmental sound. You can hear the birds and animals as you walk along the world. However, there's not really much exploration in terms of things to do, but there are plenty of quests before the game is over.
Amazingly enough, this game does have multiplayer. You can fight in team deathmatch just like a FPS. There's also gladiator type matches in the Colosseum. You can even bet XP on the winner. Unfortunately, there's not many people playing this game online. It's a good hack-and-slash for those who like these types of games. The huge number of traps seems out of place, but be prepared to use them.
