She's back in the "saddle" again if you get our meaning. Miss Lara Croft has to reconcile her past about how her mother died. From there, the story gets weird involving a magical sword? This would make a great Aladdin game and we could have Robin Williams making wisecracks all the way through. Alas, no Robin Williams smart remarks and nothing of interest comes out of Lara's mouth. She's just another hot woman with one of those personalities you can use to drywall your house.
Anyway, getting back to the game, you got to gather the pieces of some magical sword by traveling all over the world, kinda like any Tomb Raider game. But it doesn't really matter since you'll be underground, hence the name Tomb Raider. And when you are underground, you have Lara's limited moves and your wits to get you through the level. Expect alot of jumping, timing, and more jumping, and worst of all, bad camera angles.
They try to break up the monotony by having Lara drive a motorcyle, or wear different skimpy outfits, or do some stuff in a laboratory or office building. It doesn't really make a difference. The game plays just as if you were underground. Maybe you got to be a little bit more sneaky since you're not alone. But nothing imaginative or interesting.
Graphicswise, this game looks like a PS2 game with better textures. Lara is still well, hot. But she's got a doll-like appearance eventhough she's suppose to be modeled after their Lara Croft model. But without the realism so those skimpy outfits only appeal to the lowest Lara Croft fanboy. But looks like they kept the Angelina Jolie lips. Smart move. But the breast physics so touted in the first game are not touted anymore. Bad move. Sound and music has enough high production value that makes it sound like a movie score. But for a score, it doesn't really leave any impression on you.
There's no replay value and no multiplayer or coop. Overall, we feel this game is a huge letdown in terms of everything. Graphics aren't realistic enough because they made this game multiplatform. Gameplay is what you would expect from a platform game, except Lara has guns that shot weak bullets and the story could have been better. This game feels like one of those bad summer action flicks that sell tickets for about one weekend, then disappear forever.
